MOUNTAIN STATION TRAIL CLOSURES - STARTING MONDAY, MAY 10.

The private land owner at Mountain Station is starting logging operations to salvage blowdown. We have been working closely with them to work out temporary trail closures and restrictions.

🚷 CLOSURES apply to EVERYONE 🚳

Walkers, hikers, runners, cyclists, kids, retirees, cats and dogs. YOU!

Thank you for respecting all closures!

We are hoping that it will be safe to ride trails in the mid section of the mountain (after 3 pm) by early June when the logging will be done in those areas. Expect closures until 3 pm, Mon-Fri to last into July.

UPDATE MAY 23, 2021

We have received notification from the private land owner that trail users are continuing to enter closed areas of the Mountain Station trail network.

This is a serious safety hazard as active logging and hauling is currently taking place with heavy machinery operating. It is also jeopardizing future access to these amazing trails.

Access to the Mountain Station trails is a privilege that we at the Nelson Cycling Club work very hard to maintain for the community. We are very grateful to the land owner for allowing continued access despite the ongoing work and would like to see this relationship continue.

Tell your friends, your riding buddies, and the folks visiting from out of town, there are limitations to access. Please take the time to refamiliarize yourself with what is open and when.
